Brightmark x NOAA’s Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary

We found a perfect plastics recycling partner in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. They have plastic buoys and downline waste we don’t want to landfill. Brightmark has the solution.

Partnership Benefits

OCEAN CONSERVAnCY

Brightmark and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary have teamed up to effectively and sustainably decrease marine plastic pollution in the Florida Keys.

A UNIQUE RECYCLING PROGRAM

This first-of-its-kind recycling program recycles buoys and downlines from the sanctuary’s upper and lower Keys —avoiding landfills while keeping waterways clear for work and play.

COMING FULL CIRCLE

Brightmark will divert these hard-to-recycle plastics from landfills and turn them into new products, bringing them full circle.

Buoying hopes for cleaner oceans.

Tackling an ocean-sized problem.

Alongside the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, we are partnering to pull plastic waste out of the ocean and transform it into new products—making it a circular solution worthy of celebration.

“This initiative elevates our commitment to protect the environment. I’m proud that buoy team member Benjamin D’Avanzo recognized the need for a sustainable alternative to our plastics waste and pursued this partnership with Brightmark.”
